Ding Ning's naked scene in "The Hospital" fires up net discussion war As The Hospital prepares to get target attention on its first broadcast, although its viewership was not as good as " Shen Diao Xia Lu" before, the viewing trend is now becoming better and better. In addition, among the young audience's discussion topics, particularly after Ding Ning's naked exposure in a bed scene was shown on TV and The Hospital website , all led to a word war between online forum members. Somebody thought that the Ding Ning's naked scene showed too much flesh, but there were also other who believed that it was not Director Cai's intention. As soon as The Hospital was shown, not only did it got media attention, but most viewers acted not just as viewers when they watched these drama scenes. Just talking if Jerry's performance is good, online users immediately quarrel, that even many of the Japanese fans also joined the discussions. Furthermore, The Hospital has Ding Ning's semi-naked intimate scene that led to more fiery word war talks. Some pointed out that The Hospital is very serene, and having the naked intimate scene is very odd. But there were also others who thought that those who had watched "Sex in the City" episodes didnt thought it was vulgar at all, but when it comes to watching Taiwanese TV serials having intimate naked scenes, everybody would then think it was unfitting. Jerry has many fans who go to his offcial website everyday, to convey their support for him, and also for Leon Dai. That is why it draws many fans to him that many people are now saying that he is today's Taiwanese version of Tony Leung. Jerry's acting skills and overall reception of The HospitalJerry's lead role drama "The Hospital (White Tower)" had it's first broadcast on the 15th, in a time slot once dominated by period adventure and traditional dramas. Because most viewers were already accustomed of not watching these sassy dramas, the audience rating was low. However, viewers reaction on this first airing were positve: "Jerry is very natural." "Impressive and splendid drama" Regarding the drama vis-a-vis Jerry's performance, net viewers comment "He has no confidence in front of Leon Dai and the likes of the veteran actors and his performance was reputed to be still raw." But, fans supporting him gave powerful praises,, "He has done a rather good performance which is strongly possible to improve!! " Drama Director Cai Yue Xun added that more splendid performances is yet to be shown "so you must watch every broadcast of drama! There is also lots of space where the audience rating will still rise!!" showing much confidence. Jerry Yan missed Jacky Cheung to portray the villain roleBecause of Dai Li Ren, Jerry Yan had missed Jacky Cheung, and another reason to continue with the drama! CTV's The Hospital" didnt attract large viewers and only relied on Jerry's charms, that audience reception is not as expected. Director Cai Yue Xun revealed that when they were still choosing the cast, they were already eyeing for Jacky Cheung to portray the villain doctor "Qui Qing Cheng." However, because of schedule problems, Jacky gracefully turned it down. Dai Li Ren's acting skill dominated Bao LongThis hungry-for-fame doctor role was later offered to Dai Li Ren. Viewers reaction was that Dai Li Ren's acting skill seemed to soar and driven above Jerry Yan. Villain doctor role was originally offered to Ge ShenHowever, Director Cai then said, that actually, when he was preparing for The Hospital, Jerry was the first person to be confirmed. For the "Qui Qing Cheng " role, it was rumored that he was looking for HK's 4 heavenly kings Andy Lau, Leon Lai, Jacky Cheung and Aaron Kwok. Director Cai said, "Only Jacky Cheung is real." Cai Yue Xun and Jacky Cheung had also discussed about the role, plus, Jerry and Jacky already worked together in "Love Scar", so odds in getting along in the drama is not really high. Dai Li Ren portrays the Surgical Department Head Qui Qing Cheng in the drama. But whether it is just a simple gesture, or walking in the halls of the Hospital, he often appeared in a "raised chin", that fans then started to talk about. In the drama, Dai Li Ren unscrupulously got his promotion as Surgical Dept. Head. He had an illicit affair with a TV reporter Yang Jin Hua where they made love right in his office, and this powerful acting named him as " Taiwan's Tony Leung." Fans even joked, " When they were filming the drama, the incident with the Prince hadn't even occured yet, so how come it turned out like this?"Yang Ming Productions explained that Dai Li Ren's character in the first half of the drama is a tough guy, aiming for the No3. position in The Hospital, so Dai Bao Ge must portray a very authocratic feeling. In contrast, after the first half, his acting will be lighter, resulting in balance of drama effects. A few days ago, there were rumors that after the shooting ended, Jerry planned to invest in a new drama and asked Cai Yue Xun to direct it, reversely "directing" him now as the boss. "Idol advertisements lost its effectsThe Hospital was defeated in its first fightCTV's 8pm drama "The Hospital" with Jerry Yan as its male lead, got only 2.3% viewership ratio on its intitial broadcast. which is half lower compared to its previous program " Shen Diao Xia Lu". Is it because the idol has lost his grip? Or is it because the viewers are still used to the salty traditional dramas on the 8pm slot? The Hospital's fight for viewership is no ideal. CTV's Project Editing Room Director Fang Ke Ren started to fire and said," Although I almost expected this viewership rate, Taiwan, however had adopted a strange system of getting these ratings eversince, and the Taiwan drama industry losses from it." After The Hospital's initial broadcast, showbiz insiders' general reaction all thought that Director Cai filmed the TV serial as his new outlet, that all matters should belong to him. Producer Zheng Zhao Cheng and Lin Shu Qiao even gave him 99% part on all the production matters, thinking he could raise the standard of the Taiwanese drama industry. The mother of idol drama Angie Chai even said,"Getting viewership is exactly the Director's intention," With about 3% viewership, people chose not to watch the 8 pm drama. This low ratings worries a lot of people in the TV industry. CTV had loyal viewers of traditional dramas for its 8 pm slot eversince. Now, they changed it into an idol drama, leading a big chunk of senior viewers washed away. CTV confirmed, " Our 50 year old and above viewers changed into 25-39 year olds white-collar female viewers. Moreover, the Chinese generally dont like to fall sick so they dont like the topic "surgical transplants", or the death plot and the sudden appearance of power forces. Cai Yue Xun said," I already worked hard to make a production of this degree. Im convinced that everyone will work hard, because competition is one bad thing. Moreover, I have a strong hopes to wait for the people who had not watched the 8 pm time slot for a very long time now, to pull them back to the TV screens.
