What happened: 1. I wonder whether you remember: Last year, AC led Zai and Da S inviting several TW newspapers to promote Mars and Silence in Japan. At that time, AC worked with Parco Department Store in Tokyo and set up Zai as its endorser for the White Valentine's Day in Japan. 2. Since F4 have started to gain some attention in Japan, F3 (except Jerry) have been arranged by FL/AC to promote their dramas and to meet fans in Japan representing F4. I think in around July/August this year (I don't know the exact date as I am not like some fans of others who pay more attention on the rival than the idol), Zai had a meet session with Japanese fans in Japan and about 400-500 fans attended. 3. On Sept. 8 and 9, 2006, Jerry had three meet sessions with 5000 fans attended for each. According to Japanese fans, not much promotion was noticed before the dates of meet sessions. In other words, if a fan who doesn't have the habit of going online, she may not know about Jerry's meet sessions until he arrived. It was the same in TW. When the information of Jerry's having meet session in Japan first came out, it was just circulated on the web among fans. As fans' responses were so great, after the 2nd and 3rd sessions were added, news started to be reported in some newspapers in TW about Jerry's meet sessions in Japan. As this was the first time for Jerry to meet fans and to promote TH in Japan, reporters from 5 TW newspapers were invited to go with Jerry. Facts have proved that it was a huge success, and it has shown to the people in TW(especially those who think that all Japanese/Korean stars are definitely better than TW's) that a star from TW can create a storm in Japan as well and it has set the standards for a lot of other idols in TW. Nevertheless, Jerry's popularity in Japan was proven by how fast the meet session tickets being sold out, how many fans fighting for the tickets (in the black market, the price of a ticket has gone up to Yen 330,000), how many fans showing up at the airport on a working weekday, etc... The news reports from the media later was just a bonus. 4. On Sept. 25, when Zai attended an endorsement function in Mainland China, a reporter asked, "“Both Yan Cheng Xu and you had functions in Japan earlier, your popularity is not as high as his, what do you think about it?"Zai's answer (from HK I Cable's clip):"I feel quite happy about it. We all know that now Jerry has his own team, so his promotional style may be different than ours. The style I chose was doing it quietly/staying low profiled. I didn't mean that Jerry's style was not good, as it seems that he did it quite successfully, I hope that he can jia you and keep working on it..."(source: Min Sheng Bao) The next day, Xiao Zhi further explained, "Last time, the function was mainly for promoting Silence. It was a small function and the locaton could only seat 500-600 people. Honestly, we have promotional activities in Japan all the time. There is no need to bother the media just for a small function." It is quite interesting to hear that a promotional activity doesn't need media's attention. If the location is not big enough, why didn't find a bigger location or have more sessions? Another interesting part is Jerry's being high profiled and others are not. Hmm,...More interesting: Min Sheng Bao's reporter wrote "When asked about the anonymous letter received by all the big TW media a while ago about 'facts of YCX's being greedy for money', Zaizai looked puzzled and asked his agent about it..." Thanks the reporter from Min Sheng Bao proved that there was anonymous letter sent by someone. This letter was sent by some "Yan Mi" (please note that Jerry's fans usually call ourselves "Xu Mi" meaning Xu's fans, but not "Yan Mi") who pretended to be Jerry's fans and one's name was even called "Gang Wan" (nbbbs' Chinese name is YCX Gang Wan. Coincidence? ). The letter was only made story by the TW Next Magazine, but not any other media. It is obvious that the media know what was going on. However, I just wonder how ugly can some people's hearts be? Honestly, this story won't do much harm on Jerry in the general public's eyes. It just further proves Jerry's popularity in Japan. However, they know that it hurts Jerry more if he believes that the letter was really from his fans. 5. According to TW Apple Daily (Oct. 18, 2006), when MG1 will be the first drama from TW being broadcasted on a public tv company (TBS) soon, AC will lead Zai to promote Silence and their new drama in Japan on the 22nd. What interesting is that their promotional schedule and format will follow Jerry's earlier visit in Sept. and reporters from 5 newspapers will also be invited. When asked whether Jerry is being the pinpointed target of Zai's promotion in Japan, Peng Peng answered, "Both Jerry and Zaizai are the lead players in Hua Liu (a recent phenomenon created by Chinese actors/singers in Japan), and they both are members of F4, so fans will support both, there is no need for comparison."
Ask: When you are together with F4 members, seems the 3 of them are truly cheerful with smiles as if they are really happy?
Vic: Not at all, they are only trying to pretend to be happy! (Laugh)
Ask: To the 3 of them, it seems you are their emedicine f , how do you feel towards that?Vic: I am only laughing with them (Laugh) Actually, everyone do have difficult moments during work, we just try to joke around to ease the stress
Ask: From your point of view, not even being notice from fans, where exactly does F4 members f charm come from?Vic: Everyone of us just wanted our fans to be able to see 100% of our charm. But during work, we will re-discover ourselves and there should be more areas that maybe even we do not know. For example for this time for my DVD and Pictorial book, my upcoming work, maybe there will be some new areas that I may discover on myself, so I will continue to keep re-discover myself.
Ask: Now that F4 had their own solo work and events, how do you all keep in touch with each other?Vic: Sending birthday wishes is a must. For example, recently for VanNess birthday, we went out together for a meal! Lately, we are having much less time to spend together, like I may be in Taiwan while the rest of at somewhere else, miss out on each other many times. This time I flew in from HK to Tokyo, it happen the morning before I set off here, VanNess had just arrived HK. He gave me a call once he had reached and then I got to know he was staying in the same hotel as I was. So after I get off the phone, I immediately went to VanNess room and both of us chatted till it is dawn. We rarely have such opportunities, that day was really happy!
Ask: What do you both chatted about?Vic: VanNess will bring lots of DVD when he had work in overseas, so that when he has freetime, he will stay in hotel to watch DVD. That night, it is the same, we started off watching DVD movie, then I suddenly remember something and asked VanNess, gdo you have that recorded DVD of your Japan concert? h, he answered eYes, I brought f. Then I continue to say, ethen I want to watch that, why hide it from me f, VanNess answered enot nice to show you f He was obviously shy to show it to me (Laugh). eWhat is there to be shy about f, I went on to persuade him, finally we are watching the concert DVD. While watching that, we chatted a lot. Due to the DVD lasted 2-1/2 hours, after that it was dawn already (Laugh). I had to set off to Tokyo, so I quickly went back to my room to tidy my luggage for the trip.
Ask: So did not get any sleep the whole night?Vic: I guess VanNess had prepared to accompany me till dawn, so I did not plan to sleep. Furthermore my flight to Tokyo was very early that morning, worrying that I may overslept, thus, I am keeping awake all the while.
Ask: What is your comments after watching VanNess f solo concert DVD?Vic: It was great! At March this year for the F4 concerts, VanNess f performance was already very good, this time at Tokyo was even better, better than he was in Hk. But when we were watching the Tokyo concert DVD, VanNess will fast forward all his talking portions, he fast forwarded many times, so I asked why he did that, he said eNot nice to show you f (Laugh). VanNess said many times that the portions where he spoken Japanese, not nice to show others on it, I said eBut I want to watch, just let the DVD play at the normal speed! f, he replied eok, then cbe it f Finally I get to watch everything. Spent 2-1/2 hours (Laugh)
Ask: Have you notice anything special?Vic: During the recent F4 concerts, VanNess had been trying to say there are room for improvement to have a better performance. I felt this is a very wonderful thinking. While we are putting 100% effort to do a job, after it is done, being able to look back to review what are the areas that we need to emphasis on and to improve further when we get to do it next time, we will be able to get a more perfect end-results, getting more ideas here n there, etc cI felt I can use also use this method to make myself egrow f etoo.
Ask: What do you think of your nickname being erain god f where everyone knows of this?Vic: Yes. (Laugh), Tokyo fs weather had been gloomy lately, I think It is due to my presence that it started to rain. *sigh* Me being the erain god f is rather widely known here? (Laugh). It is a common joke among my fans and F4 fans (Laugh). When VAnNess depart from Beijing to HK, there was a rainstorm, his fans will jokingly say, emust be due to me being around for work taking place in Beijing that caused the rainstorm fHuh (Laugh), but I guess it is because VanNess fans also wanted to see me! If this is the reason, I think they will think of me whenever it rains. (Laugh) If I am really that powerful, then our fans will not need weather forecast no more!
Jimmy and Stanley planning to shoot "a good Taiwan movie", one of the leading character is a famous guy and will not disclosed at this moment.
Jimmy Hung of Tension (HK artist - Hung Kam Bo's son) said : "Vanness, Stanley and me believe TW movie still have market, so we want to shoot a movie that everybody love to watch."
Jimmy sets up a movie workshop, Machi music workshop by Stanley under the same roof. Jimmy said : Workshop is formed by Vanness, me and DJ Eric Tu, capital around TW$1,000,000. Vanness is the major shareholder because he's the richest amongst us. The English name of our company "Smash and Grab", from direct translation means ¡°Smash the glass, grab then run¡±, but we don¡¯t like violence, we just want to use similar passion, catch back the movie audiences, so our Company Chinese name is "ÌìµØÈʺÍ" (Mandarin phonetic : Tian Di Ren He), we hope "Unlimited Spacious, friendship is our top priority" ¡ºŸoÏÞŒ’ V¡¢ÓÑÇéÖÁÉÏ¡».
Due to the recession of TW Movie, young people do not watch TW movie, Jimmy and Vanness, a group of American born Chinese Machi didn¡¯t agree and decide do want they discussed, hope can shoot a good TW movie that audiences like. The temporally English name of the movie called "The Job", the story is relating 4 thieves, they steal something that should not steal and involve in a quarrel. Director Jimmy said : Vanness, Stanley and me and a singer who now shooting movie with a famous international director are the leading male character, and we hope can find a Japanese artist become the leading female character, budget is around US$1,000,000, hope can start shooting at April 2007.
Zhou Yu Min wants to wear the Scotland kilt for once
