Jerry Yan's visit to the Philippines canceled due to super typhoon Reming
To address the urgent need for disaster relief operation due to the onslaught of super typhoon Reming, World Vision-Philippines is canceling the scheduled visit of Jerry Yan to Filipino sponsored children. “While Jerry’s visit will highlight World Vision-Philippines campaign to find new sponsors for 1,000 poor Filipino children, it is our priority to respond to the appeals for relief assistance of our community and local government partners devastated by super typhoon Reming”, said World Vision-Philippines executive Director Elnora Avarientos. She added that World Vision’s Humanitarian Emergency Assistance team, which is tasked to secure the safety of Jerry’s visit in the Philippines will instead go to the Bicol region to conduct damage and need assessment in preparation for disaster relief operation. Taiwanese superstar Jerry Yan, popularly known as Dao Ming Si of the phenomenal hit TV series Meteor Garden and F4 fame, was scheduled to visit the Philippines on December 8 – 11 as part of his Child Sponsorship campaign across Asia. Jerry has been appointed as the first Asia Regional Child Sponsorship Ambassador of World Vision and has visited World Vision-supported projects and communities in Mongolia last October 24 to 30. From Mongolia, the Asian pop star proceeded to Japan, Malaysia, Singapore and Hong Kong as Child Sponsorship Ambassador last November. Jerry is scheduled to visit Korea, the Philippines and Thailand this month. In line with his Asian tour, Jerry is calling for 35,000 new sponsors for children in need throughout Asia. Jerry joins more than three million other World Vision child sponsors in supporting poor children the world over. He currently sponsors three children in Mongolia. In the Philippines, World Vision assists more than 120,000 children in 34 provinces and 22 cities across the country. Nearly 10,000 Filipinos are engaged in giving life-changing investment to 11,797 children through child sponsorship. For only P15 a day or P450 a month, a child’s life is transformed and his/her future is secured. World Vision is a child-focused Christian, development, advocacy and relief organization that helps over 100 million people in 96 countries in 2005 alone. It is one of the world’s largest child sponsorship and relief agencies.

Simple Happiness!
Hello! Friends of SJ's. I haven't come up here and left messages to you for a long time. I just came back from Singapore last night. Recently, I have gone to different countries for promoting World Vision's sponsorship program. Although the schedule was tight, I finished the work with pleasure. During the trips, a lot of fan friends have given me letters filled with both compliments and criticisms. I have noted each of your comments.~~ Thank you very much. I will jia you! After going to Mongolia, I have had a lot of thoughts, but there was no opportunity to share with you until now. In those 7 days, a lot of stories were heard, but my deepest feeling of the trip was being able to retrieve the "simple happiness". After settled in a materialized environment for extended period of time, it seems that we have eventually lost the simple fulfillment and happiness that can't be bought by money. I will remember Bardan and his sister's smile forever. Although they are very poor, they live with sureness. I could see their eyes full of hope. Another thing I have missed very much even until now is the galaxy in the night sky at Gobi Dessert. It is truly beautiful!
Not Just A Pretty Face
As celebrity ambassador for the Asian offices of World Vision International, Jerry Yan went to Mongolia last October to visit his sponsored children. Now with the Malaysian World Vision event, he feels "It's been a long time since I've seen myself this happy."At the press con (28th) he said, ' Although I know it's very hard, I hoped that I could be like the children, being simple as much as possible. Children's smiles shocks and attacks me, why in spite of poverty they can still laugh and be this happy? With my Mongolian experience, its now unforgettable. "Jerry was full of smiles throughout the press conference, and also frequently greeting his 55 fans who came all the way from Indonesia, Thailand, Singapore, Taiwan, Hong Kong and China to attend the press con. Jerry's Malaysia-based Fans club personally set an example, an joined the Child Sponsorship Program.
Jerry happily expressed, " Actually, fans conveyed to me a direct message, that whenever it is my birthday or any other important day, all of them will do good deeds to encourage me. I feel that I am so blessed, that I can accomplish too many things. "Jerry earlier said that when he got along with the children, it allowed him to feel what it is to be a father. Jerry smiled and said that it's not actually totally, but it allowed him to feel useful, and can let a child rely and depend on him. Jerry's wish is to build a school so that children could receive education. In the future when they grow up, they will give back to the society. In addition, Jerry visited a heavily-scarred child in Mongolia. He lovingly said, " Before setting off, I already saw the child's picture and character profile. However, I was unable to feel how painful the injuries are for the child up to when I personally saw him. When he started to lift off the bandages of his wounds, I could really feel how badly he felt. As if I was him, in these circumstances, I just don't know how I can strongly manage to move. "
For the children
FOR Taiwanese heartthrob Jerry Yan, artistes serve a greater need apart from entertaining, and that is to help others.
“We are always busy with concerts, filming and various promotional activities, there doesn’t seem to be time to help those who need our help. But it is important that we do our part.” said Yan at the World Vision press conference recently.
Yan was in Kuala Lumpur as part of his Asian tour of World Vision countries to promote the organisation’ s International Child Sponsorship Programme. His next stops will include Singapore, Thailand, Hong Kong and the Philippines.
The 29-year-old signed on as World Vision’s first Asia Child Sponsorship Ambassador in October. As ambassador, he represents 10 World Vision Asian offices, namely Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, Mongolia, the Philippines, Thailand, Taiwan and Singapore.
Yan said that he had long wanted to work with World Vision but was unable to because of his packed schedule.
One of his first duties as ambassador was to visit some children in Mongolia.
“In my seven days there, I saw many children who needed help and care, and I realised that child sponsorship was an effective way for us to help them,” said Yan, who sponsors three World Vision children himself.
“If I can realise just one of their dreams, it would be to provide them access to education. I believe that education will help them in the long run to escape the cycle of poverty.”– By Li Ee Kee
Jerry Yan brings back his happiness in sponsoring children
Jerry went earlier to Mongolia to visit his sponsored children. While watching footage pictures of his time with the children, he expressed with excitement, "It's been a long time since I've seen myself this happy"As World Vision's Asian Ambassador for Child Sponsorship, Jerry went to Mongolia last October to visit his sponsored children. Now with the Malaysian World Vision event, he shares this Mongolian experience. At the press con (28th) he said, ' Although I know it's very hard, I hoped that I could be like the children, being simple as much as possible. Children's smiles shocks and attacks me, why in spite of poverty they can still laugh and be this happy? With my Mongolian experience, its now unforgettable. " He continued, " It's not because I'm an actor, or just because I went to fulfill my duties for the society. My busy work does not enrich my spirituality, so I thought of freezing myself. I had always wanted to join such similar activities, but because of my work, I have no way," In his present Mongolian travel, he frankly spoke that compared to filming dramas, making albums or doing concerts, this is more meaningful. Moreover, he also wished that someday, he could join more cause-oriented activities. "Helping other people at the same time, I can feel how happy I am. " He shyly said, " I felt very happy in Mongolia. Actually, when I experienced their life, I lived in a room with hot water so I felt a bit embarrassed to them.Smiling ThroughoutJerry and the children talked to each other through a translator or by means of body language. At first, when he thought that these children were not very happy and worried, he hadn't thought that these children were actually very simple and happy. He sent out, "It's very difficult for us to be like this happy. So we must be more grateful." Jerry was full of smiles throughout the press conference, and also frequently greeting his 55 fans who came all the way from Indonesia, Thailand, Singapore, Taiwan, Hong Kong and China to attend the press con. 15 security enveloped 200 fans at the airport
Jerry's smiles didn't leave in his mouth
In just one smile of Jerry Yan, fans immediately melts down, and would then barge into even 15 Maxi Cab security escorts right away!Having been away for 2 1/2 years, F4 handsome champ Jerry Yan returns at the Lion City this time in his capacity as World Vision Child Sponsorship Ambassador! Jerry was smiling brightly throughout his walk, which was quite missed by the people. At about 8 pm, Jerry was escorted down by as much as 10 security men. Together with his manager, assistant, nanny and model coach, they walked from the exit gate and so enthusiastic fans went into madness, calling him out hysterically and flashing their cameras which created disturbance at the airport!Seeing the huge fans' troops, with flowers and gifts again, suddenly screaming and taking pictures, Jerry's face was filled with friendly smiles, that at the side of his mouth revealed small wine traces, where his charming smiles electrified many fans. He was in a good mood, also frequently waving his hands to the fans, and his assistant helped him with the gifts. Appearing for only 5 minutes, Jerry immediately boarded a gray Mercedez Benz and quickly sped off to the hotel. To the fans, even though they met Jerry for such a short time, their idol's smiles are more than enough and would make up for everything. Only F4 Vice President Stephanie revealed "We had more than 40 fans who welcomed him at the airport and 15 fast vehicles to chase him at the highways. Actually, it's not really chasing, its just because fans wanted to see Jerry a little longer. It's already well-coordinated, and it slowly started in the streets! Last night, we all stopped and sat down in the highway because our Maxicab containing Jerry's shuttle was already beginning to circle around. In this entire trip, we must have at least 40 minutes to welcome him and lead him until he reaches the hotel.
Not hoping to become lost with the applauses
Jerry met with the fans and media yesterday early morning at 11:15 inside the Rock Auditorium in Xin Da city. About 300 fans warmly responded with deafening screams because Jerry became the "Asian Ambassador of World Vision Child Sponsorship Program" . Fans from Chnge Du, China loudly called out "Papa Yan" and also called him " a quick life." Jerry was wearing a long-sleeved red and black horizontal stripped T shirt and brown pants when he met with the fans and media. His intimacy and power is very strong, often showing off his cute smiles. From an actor to an ambassador, Jerry will put down his actor identity as he would direct towards the audience his Mongolia experience. Because of Jerry's shyness, he is not suitable to handle it, " I think I'm not very capable to be an ambassador. At first, I'm not very good at facing cameras. Now I must also preside , so if I'm not very good, I apologize to everyone. " Jerry also indicated that this Mongolia trip changed his view on life. "I don't wish to become lost with the applauses... " Jerry said, "The entertainment circle is a s huge dye vat. Living here for a long time will naturally influence you. I was once a simple big boy, but unknowingly, I started to become worried. Recently, I would always search for myself, and wish to confront everybody with a simple mind. "His Mongolian experience allowed him to realize that happiness is not certain. When a child nervously shook his hand, and conveying his body temperature, he started to consciously realize that he has "grown up" and take a step to maturity. "Even after I'm not the World Vision Spokesman anymore, I would still go to Mongolia every year, maybe to be that behind spokesman that "does odd jobs". The words are unusually funny.
Interview strictly bans taking pictures
Yesterday early morning, this "Charity Ambassador" ended his Xin Da City media and fans meeting. In the afternoon, he was interviewed by the Singapore media group. However, yesterday morning, the reporters received a phone notice that during the press con, taking pictures would be strictly prohibited. Fan supporters of Jerry Yan really loved to see that very smart face and smiles. According to reports, when Jerry came, he was a little sick and maybe because he is worried he might be affected by the flashes, thus he proposed to politely refuse to take pictures. However, to Jerry fans who were at the meeting, Jerry's state is still very good. Not letting to take pictures during the interview, Jerry fans has only these words, "It's truly too bad, la!"

Bold and generous “Chu Xiang Shuai” Looks more like “Wu Tie Hua”
At night, Chu Xiao Tian munched Sashimi in a Japanese restaurant. Talking loud and boldly, he enjoyed some wine pleasantly. He jested that he’s born to drink. When he was young, he went with his father for business and got drunk at the early age of 10.heavenAfter couples of drinks, he straightly confessed that he is a bad-tempered person. He said, there was one time during filming in the middle of the night. The time was up but he was not allowed to go. He could barely wait for his manager to coordinate and started scolding. He then talked about his grievance and bad experience from work.He bluntly admitted that he would not be as gentle as the other members of F4 when he run into fans who amid or chase after him. From his viewpoint, this is his private time. He does not want to put on a smiling face but would rather show a straight face and flee away. Looking at this outspoken soaker, I wonder, “Is this the same serious Chu Xiao Tian that was in the studio this afternoon?” Compared to Chu Liu Xiang, you, Chu Xiang Shuai, looks more like “Wu Tie Hua”!

51st APFF Awards

Jerry is sitting on the third row next to Ms. Wang. Just now, Jacky Wu said something like, "You need to watch out tonight." Ms. Lin answered like, "Yes, I know. The camera has pointed to him already." Then the camera gave Jerry a close up and Jerry gave a very sweet smile. Then Wu said, "Oh we are talking about your sisters in CATWALK..."When the Korean actor and Ms. Lin presented the award, the Korean actor said that he was a prince (in a tv drama). Then Ms. Lin said that there was a prince in TW as well. When Jacky tried to say something, she said let's follow the programme (in Mandarin, the two words meaning programme are pronounced as "Cheng Xu"). Jacky asked "Are you calling my name?", said that he could be the prince in TW, and asked whether he could sit in the 4th row the 2nd seat (that's where Jerry is sitting at). The camera focused on Jerry and Jerry nodded his head slightly.Jacky tried to make Ms. Lin to give hugs to both presenters. After she hugged Zhou Xun, Jacky asked her to continue with the other presenter. Jerry hugged Jacky and hoped that he would be satisfied, but no. At the end, Jerry noticed that he could not get away, so he opened his arm for a very brief moment towards Lin, but Ms. Lin didn't go forward, so he shook hands with her instead.Ms. Lin will play a role in John Woo's next movie. There was a rumor that Lin will have only two lines in the movie. That's why Lin brought a sword when she pretended to interrogate the director regarding the rumor. When John Woo joked that he was surprised by Lin's performance tonight (I guess may be she lowers her voice after taking some lessons) and he would consider changing the script, the famous director next to him, Hou Xiao Yan, joked that being a director, it is better to be firm with the actors. Then the camera showed Jerry and Director Cai laughing.
Lin Zhi Ling and Jerry Yan would see off at the Asian Film Awards
Taiwan's most famous giant star idol Jerry Yan, and Taiwan's First Model Lin Zhing Ling, two of the most rumored super male-female pair, is hoped to to see each other on Friday for the Asian Film Fest Awards. Jerry will present a grand award, most probably the Best Actress awardee. Last night, Asian Films Festival Dinner Party and Program Executive Head Zhang Xiao Yan confirmed through publicist Wang Xiao Lan that F4's Lao Da Jerry Yan already agreed to attend. He first agreed to attend the dinner party and then will also be a award presenter. Zhang Xiao Yan happily expressed. " Movie people from all over Asia would grace the affair, so its only natural for Taiwan's most famous stars to be there. Jerry (Yan Chneg Xu) is Taiwan's most famous idol, how can he be absent? Publicist Xiao Lan personally went into inviting, convinced him well, and so Jerry decided to help out to accomplish the tasks. " Because Golden Horse Awards Committee had invited Jay Chou as presenter, and his ex- rumored girlfriend Patty Hou was invited to host the dinner party, it led to endless talks. Now, Asian Film Awards also decided to invite Jerry as presenter and then they got his rumored girlfriend Lin Zhing Ling to host the dinner party, in a super mission to put together two of the biggest rumored pair on the same stage.

SPore Fans Greet -Grandma uses his shows to teach grandchild dental hygiene
Which kor kor* has the nicest teeth?
*big brother
By Ng Hui Hui and Lim Jun Xue
MORE than 150 rowdy fans gathered at Changi Airport's Terminal 2 yesterday to catch a glimpse of Taiwanese pop idol Jerry Yan (left), a member of boyband F4.
After a few false alarms, Jerry finally emerges to the excited squeals of his fans
However, one woman stood out among the excitable crowd as she looked on calmly.
She was well-groomed, bespectacled, and looked dignified - but she kept her eyes fixed on her target.
A retiree in her 60s, Madam Tan - who did not want to give her full name - revealed that she is a fan of Jerry.
'I have been a fan since watching the TV drama Meteor Garden in 2001,' she said.
And she likes the young man so much, she even uses Jerry's shows and advertisements as 'teaching material' for her 2-year-old granddaughter.
To encourage her granddaughter to brush her teeth, she would show her Jerry's Oral B advertisements.
Now, whenever she asks the little girl, 'Which 'kor kor' (big brother) has the nicest teeth?', the toddler, utters in babytalk: 'Dao Ming Si'.
Dao Ming Si is the character played by Jerry in Meteor Garden.
Jerry, who is the latest celebrity ambassador for Christian relief organisation World Vision International, is on a media tour throughout Asia to talk about his work with the group.
Madam Tan said: 'I feel that Jerry, who is still so humble despite his fame, is a very good role model for young people. His mother must have taught him well.'
The retiree is so hooked, she can't stop gushing about Jerry to her granddaughter.
In Meteor Garden II, his character meets with a car accident while on his was to propose to the love of his life, Shancai, in a church.
Madam Tan said she watched that episode with her granddaughter several times and used it to explain to her what a church is.
She also told her granddaughter she would take her to Barcelona, where a part of the drama was filmed.
'She asked me where Barcelona is, so I bought a world map and showed her where it is,' said Madam Tan.
'Now, everytime we pass a church along Orchard Road, she points to it and says, 'That is Shancai's church,' said Madam Tan.
Unlike Madam Tan, the other fans were more boisterous.Oganisers had remained tight-lipped about his flight details, but these die-hard fans managed to find out that he would be arriving on SQ 117 at 7.45pm.
They came from the Philippines, Thailand, Hong Kong, Taiwan and China.
After his plane touched down at 7.50pm, there was talk that he was wearing a cap and orange T-shirt.
Fans screamed excitedly whenever someone wearing an orange cap walked through the immigration counter.
Twenty minutes and several false alarms later, Jerry finally appeared. By then, fans were chanting his name.
Wearing a bright orange T-shirt and green cargo pants, the 1.8m-tall good-looker charmed his fans with his trademark dimpled smile, complete with a mischievous wink and a thumbs-up sign.
Despite the chaos of fans trying to climb over and crawl under metal barricades, Jerry never stopped smiling and waving.
In less than five minutes, he was ushered into a grey Mercedes Benz van, which quickly sped off.
Not seen for 2 1/2 years, Lion City airport created chaos as fans went out of control when Jerry Yan appeared for 5 minutes

Appointed as World Vision Child Sponsorship Ambassador, Jerry Yan felt that he wasn't fit for the envoy post. At the press conference, when duties as "Child Sponsorship Ambassador" was mentioned, Jerry excitedly shared to everyone his late October trip to far Mongolia when he visited his two sponsored children. Jerry even indicated that his Mongolian travel completely changed his view on life, "The entertainment circle is a big dye jar. It can automatically infect your life right away. Yen to help less fortunate
Nov 27, 2006 - The Straits Time, Life!! (Singapore)
F4 member Jerry Yen enjoys his role as celebrity ambassador for World Vision International By Kristina Tom, IN MONGOLIA
NOWN by most as a member of Taiwanese boyband F4 and for playing the role of hot-tempered Daoming Si in popular TV serial Meteor Garden, Jerry Yen may look the part of a pretty boy. However, he certainly doesn't act like one. The 29-year-old bachelor recently roughed it out in Mongolia, cramping his lanky 1.8m frame into a jeep to travel the countryside - a bumpy eight-hour ride per day - and settling down at night on a hard bed in a rustic hostel with unreliable hot water. He even suffered sunburn and a bloody nose from the bitterly cold but sunny weather. Yet, he never stopped flashing his trademark smile and auntie-killer dimples - all in the hope of spreading good cheer to some of the poorest children in rural Mongolia. He made the trip as part of his newest role as celebrity ambassador for the Asian offices of World Vision International, a Christian relief and development organisation which strives to combat global poverty, dealing in particular with the plight of impoverished children. Yen is the first such ambassador for Asia, although the Singapore office of World Vision has in the past recruited help from celebrities such as former Nominated Member of Parliament Eunice Olsen, home-grown singer Kit Chan and current World Vision Singapore ambassador and pop star Joi Chua. In Mongolia, Yen met some of his sponsored children, whom he supports through World Vision with a monthly donation of $45 each a month. Yen, who shelved his childhood dreams of becoming a professional basketball player years ago, took time out to shoot some hoops with his sponsored child Dorjtovuu Erdenebayar, 10. The boy's life story struck a chord with Yen. Both grew up in single-parent households and, in the absence of their fathers, started working at a young age to help support the family.Dorjtovuu's father was imprisoned after stealing animals to feed his family, leaving his wife and five children with little hope for a future until World Vision helped provide jobs, schooling and a new ger (a traditional Mongolian tent). At the age of eight, Dorjtovuu took on a job: herding animals. 'I can sympathise with the hardship of a single Mum who has to raise a family on her own,' said Yen, who took on a job, packing boxes, at the age of 10.Aside from visiting the rural poor in Dundgobi province, he also mingled with street children in the capital city of Ulaanbaatar. During the cold winter months, they seek shelter in underground steam tunnels, where they are vulnerable to disease, attacks by homeless adults and even the occasional burst water pipe, which can prove fatal. Said Yen: 'I used to complain about life, but compared to the suffering and courage of these children and families, my problems seem so small.'He is now on a media tour throughout Asia, where he will talk about his week-long visit to Mongolia and the work World Vision does there.
i noe some of the news are a little sort of out-dated but nvm..haha.i just post everything i hav..so maybe next time i can look at them too :D
