Is the F4 endorsement blocked by Jerry Yan?Source: Lian He Baohttp://udn.com/NEWS/ENTERTAINMENT/ENT1/3675478.shtmlJanuary 5, 2006scanned news article (page D2)http://www.nbbbs.com/forum/attachme...TqfUcIdJpXg.jpg(credit to mamy of Jerry's Harbor)Summarized by Jerry's KingdomJK NOTE: OH PLEASE!! THE SHE-DEVIL IS OUT AGAIN!!Rumors say that F4's Jerry Yan is afraid he won't be able to join the idol drama Rumors on Taiwan's travel tour project for F4 "reunion" endorsement is on the rocks as the Tourism Bureau finds the script hard to produce and Jerry's schedule is always unavailable. However, Angie Cai guaranteed yesterday that that they would overcome all difficulties to let F4 act all together. F4-endorsed 2007 Taiwan travel tour project is a showbiz major event which includes plans for commercials, an idol drama and concert tours. However, there are rumors that the script is not yet finished plus the fact that F4's schedules can't be synchronized and Jerry's commitment to join is still not confirmed. A Tourism Bureau staff said that the proposals still had no definite confirmation if F4 would all act. The Bureau is quite concerned on the script's contents. If F4 will all act simultaneously, the script must be suitable and must produce the needed results on best promoting Taiwan. In addition, it must also be televised before the year end. If not, the contract would be off. But since November last year until yesterday, details for the project have not yet been finalized, including the script . They only said that F4 are all abroad, and difficult to have a common time together. Angie Chai then said that they had already submitted 3 scripts, and will announce the final talks with the Tourism Bureau by mid-January, as well as discuss over with all F4 members. She said that the script is still pending, so all their roles are still too early to talk about. Thus, rumors on "not joining" should not be taken as final. The project has a budget of 85 million but since the trending doesn't seem to reach the goal, sponsors are now afraid they might gamble some big money. Angie Chai said that she talked to Jerry over the phone and he already promised he would join. She said that Jerry had no clear plans for his projects this year so he will do his best to cooperate. If the script is unsuitable, they can use other forms even just a guest performance. Jerry would also help in lifting it up. Chai added that uniting F4 is really very hard, and just writing the script took 3 months already. She estimated that after the Chinese New Year they can already select some suitable story details. Chai also expressed that for this project, there would work each month that can extend up to one year to produce the best quality. On rumors that Jerry won't join, she reasoned out that since F4 are all giant stars now, attention is put to them, but she is rather confident that after she meets with F4, everything would change brightly. Meanwhile, Jerry's assistant Fenny said that Jerry already more or less understood the project plans. But since he hasn't received the copy of the script yet, he still can't confirm and decide if he would join. She said, "According to our understanding, it's not only Jerry, other people are also discussing to them." Fenny revealed that Jerry is out of the country for a project, making preparations for his photobook. An internet fan talked on how she saw Jerry in Los Angeles and a male staff watching "Man Cheng Jin Wears the Golden Armor". After she recognized him, Jerry just shyly greeted the fan "Happy New Year!"thanks to jerry's kingdom[Related News] F4 remuneration was as much as $4,000,000 Remuneration was as much as HK$4,000,000 183 Club solo concert abort, replaced by Denise HoSource: Sing Tao DailyDate: January 4, 2007The popularity for 183 Club gradually decreases within this half year. They even did not have much opportunity to take exposures. During a promotion trip last year, Taiwanese Band 183 Club arrogantly criticized that F4 had gone out of date. They also indicated that they would have a Hong Kong concert in January this year. Others suspect that they over-priced for their remuneration by demanding the same price as F4 at $4 million each show. However, 183 Club do not have other commercial sponsors. In addition to their diminished popularity, East Asia (Entertainment agency) also withdrew from this project and gave up the time slot at Coliseum to Denise Ho and Tsai Qin.183 Club rode on the publicity of a Taiwan drama “The Prince who turns into a fog”. Last year during their promotion trip, they openly boast that they are even more popular than F4. Their manager also criticized that F4 was “Out” (out of date). Besides, they expressed that they will have a solo concert in Hong Kong this January and the number of shows would be more than F4’s. Based on our understanding, the organizer East Asia has booked a 7-day period from January 18th to 24th for this project. Unfortunately 183 Club added more terms to this project. First of all is in relation to their remuneration, for which they over-priced at $4 million each night, as much as F4.Although F4 had the same high price at $4,000,000 each night, they have multiple commercial sponsors who guarantee on ticket sales. Therefore, all the tickets for the four shows “Forever 4 2006” held last March sold quickly. It was a full house every night. On the contrary, 183 club rely on dramas to keep their publicity. Their later production “The Magician of Love” lead by Ming Dao did not draw too much attention and resulted graduate drop on popularity. East Asia was concerned about ticket sales because they did not have any commercial sponsors as a back up. The organizer tried to negotiate with 183 Club for a reduction on remuneration but refused by their agency. Lastly, East Asia decided to hold back on this concert.East Asia reallocated the original time slot to Denise Ho and Tsai Qing to hold their solo concerts on Jan 19-20 and Jan 1st, 24th respectively. Our reporter contacted 183 Club’s manager Sun De Rong for clarification. Sun De Rong denied on over-pricing. He complained that Far East paid too low at NT $600,000 (approximately HK$1.5 million) which included peripheral expenses. Sun De Rong further commented, “I only protect my artists for their rights and not to be demean. If we accept this arrangement, it will be indifferent of taking it as a charity show.Translated by: weiweiJerry's New Year GreetingHappy New Year!Hello! SJ frens, Happy New Year! Those far-flung Mongolia children personally made greeting cards to express their thanks and Thai fans presented him with the national Thai costume, gold necklace and dried mangoes. However, the "shining" necklace scared Jerry and frankly called out that it was "too precious!" Jerry is currently in Japan for work, as HK fans gave their congratulation birthday messages in huge electronic billboards. There were even fans who said." I won't forget you, I still have faith in you!" where people connoted it rumored girlfriend LZL's TV commercial.English Translation of Thai news (World Vison Trip to Thailand)Daily News (on-line news)25 December 2006

Jerry Yan to celebrate his 30 years low-profiled on New YearAs charity ambassador for World Vision, Jerry Yan got busy flying through to every Asian country for the last 2 months. Not having public appearances for a long time, he however, made every step in being all-seen abroad. His last appearance was in Thailand, where the people and the WV staff warmly received him. Because of his strong drawing power, many locals turned sponsors to follow him. On New year he would turn 30, and plans to be low-profiled and just be with friends to celebrate. For this year's projects, Du city and China both invited him to perform there. However, Jerry gracefully turned them down because he said that his people abroad would to do pre-production work for his new movie.Last year, Jerry celebrated his birthday shooting for The Hospital. Many people from the staff and crew celebrated with him at the set. After making many charity work this year, Jerry's ideals also changed, as he now wants to spend less and plans to celebrate in a simple, low-key way. His manager also revealed that next year, he would engage in many fan gatherings, starting immediately next month.Charity for idols' sakeMore fans are helping pop idols raise funds for their pet causesBy Chang May ChoonDecember 24, 2006FOR years, Ms Adeline Lim has dreamt of sponsoring a poor, needy child, but she was unable to commit.Last month, she finally did it - to support her favourite Taiwanese actor Jerry Yen.Appointed by World Vision as its first Asia Regional Child Sponsorship Ambassador, the F4 star was in town last month to promote his worthy cause. In response, Ms Lim, 37, quickly gathered five members of the Only F4 fan club to pool together $540 to sponsor a Mongolian child for a year.Jerry Yan (above) fan Adeline Lim (below left) with the identity card of the Mongolian child she and five other fan club members have adopted. -- HEDY KHOOThe administrative officer told The New Paper: 'We're doing it for Jerry as his birthday present next year. I've thought about doing it for a long time, but I've always held back. Now (that Jerry's endorsing), I might as well do it and extend it to the fan club.'Ms Lim is not alone. All over Asia, fans of pop stars have been actively raising funds for charities endorsed by their idols, and the trend is especially prevalent among the female fans of popular male stars. After all, women seem more prone to extreme fan behaviour, to the point of flying thousands of kilometres to see their idol for just two minutes. But at the same time, women also tend to be more likely to contribute to charity in the name of idol worship.Ms Tiffany Oh, a fan of Korean actor Bae Yong Joon and a founding member of his Singapore fan club, Joon's Family, said: 'If the fan club is doing good, people will also think better of the artiste.'(Charity) is a good way to contribute to society and it shows we don't spend all our money on him. It reflects well on him.'Joon's Family has been raising funds among its own members every year to donate to charities like The Straits Times' School Pocket Money Fund and Breast Cancer Foundation.Meanwhile, Jerry's star power has convinced 33 of his fans here to become new child sponsors in just one month. He was here last month to share his personal experience of visiting his own sponsored child in Mongolia and raise greater awareness of World Vision.Earlier in July, Singaporean fans of South Korean actor Lee Byung Hun collected about $400 to give to a needy Chinese temple in his name. It was his birthday that month, and the donation was their 'present' to him, said Ms Adeline Siau of the LBH.SG fan club.'He's quite involved in charitable causes, so it inspires us to follow his example,' she added.Byung Hun is known to be a strong Unicef supporter and he also makes big donations to other charities. When he reportedly donated 100 million won ($160,000) to a society that helps disaster victims in Korea in August, his fans from Hong Kong and China topped up with another 1.1 million won.And when Yong Joon and fellow actor So Ji Sup donated a combined 82 million won to a hospital in Seoul for the poor and destitute, fans from Hong Kong, Japan and as far away as Canada raised 4.7 million won for the same hospital.GENDER NOT IMPORTANTYet, when asked if the hunks make better spokesmen, two humanitarian organisations insisted they do not pick ambassadors based on gender.World Vision Singapore, for instance, has appointed Gurmit Singh, Kit Chan, Joi Chua and Eunice Olsen as its celebrity ambassadors. Executive director Sim Cher Young said they were picked as their image was deemed suitable for the organisation. It just happened that we have more female (ambassadors) , but we're never gender-biased. A man can do as good a job as the woman, and you can't say the man can achieve much more.'As for choosing Jerry, Mr Sim said it is not so much to tap on his massive fan base but rather due to his positive personality and enthusiasm in volunteer work.Jerry himself also seems to have realised that his role as a World Vision ambassador means reaching out to beyond his fans.'My family and I used to depend on others for help, so I realise how important it is to lend a helping hand,' he told The New Paper during a group interview.'I'm doing what I can to reach out to people, not just people who like me, and spread the message that there are many children out there who need help.'Mr Izuan M Rais, who is the head of the international relief division for Mercy Relief, also agreed that gender is not important in choosing an ambassador. He said: 'Girls will go ga-ga over guys, but our market segment is not just girls only but guys too.'(A male ambassador) can educate, reach out and inspire, and he is associated with the outdoors and legwork.'But if you're asking for money, look for a woman. She has the right emotive elements and she opens up the pocket deeper.'Mr Izuan should know. He worked with Singaporean songbird Stefanie Sun, who was Mercy Relief's ambassador, last year. He said Stefanie not only helped to raise the organisation' s media profile, but she also devoted time to several humanitarian projects and worked with the volunteers.Mercy Relief also managed to raise $25,000 through the sale of 1,000 'Stefanie Sun Bears', which were bought up by her fans in Singapore, China and Taiwan. So will Mercy Relief appoint a male ambassador next?Mr Izuan said they are still on the look out, but he reckoned zany radio deejay Glenn Ong would fit the bill.'Glenn has the personality to inspire the young generation to do something to benefit others.' oh mann..how can they compare 183 club wif f4..haiz..such a pity..i actually like 183 too..haiz..now how???argh..oh ya..n skool just started not long ago..i mite be able to post much stuff so often now..sobs.Signing off...
